Scope of Service: Cargo Quantity Surveys
The service comprises the conduct of Initial and Final Surveys for the purpose of determining the quantity of cargo loaded onto or discharged from a vessel.
Intermediate surveys are expressly excluded from the scope of this service.
Survey Methodology
Each survey includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
- Taking and recording vessel draught readings
- Sounding and dipping of cargo tanks to determine quantities on board
- Verification of the condition, accuracy, and integrity of all measuring equipment used during the survey
- Verification of the accuracy and validity of hydrostatic tables and tank calibration charts
- Electronic reporting of survey findings at each stage of the operation
- Issuance of Letters of Protest, where applicable, with soft copies transmitted electronically
Reporting & Documentation
- Survey reports and supporting documentation will be issued in electronic format.
- Where required, original hard copies may be dispatched via a customer-nominated courier.
- All courier charges shall be borne directly by the customer and paid to the courier service provider.
Additional Costs
- The Client will cater for travel costs (including; flights, visa, work permits, security, accommodation and meals) for attendance outside Mombasa port, Kenya.
